The movement of the material in the disc granulator is basically divided into four areas:

1) Powder and cue ball area This area is at the feed and water position, contains a lot of powder, and forms a lot of cue balls.

2) Small ball and powder area In this area, the number of small balls is roughly equal, and the small balls continue to absorb materials and water, and gradually grow up.

3) Material ball area In this area, there are many material balls and less powder. When the material balls are formed, the density and strength are gradually increased.

4) Ball discharge area This area is almost all qualified raw balls, which are continuously discharged with the rotation of the disc.

The pelletizing process of the disc granulator is divided into wet pelletizing, semi-dry pelletizing and dry pelletizing, which are distinguished according to the moisture content of the mixture. When the wet material is formed into a ball, the moisture content of the powder is 30%-35%, when the semi-dry material is formed into a ball, the moisture content of the powder is 15%-25%, and when the dry material is formed into a ball, the moisture content of the powder is less than 5%. Do not add water or only a small amount of water when the wet material is formed into a ball, and more water is required when the dry material is formed into a ball.
